2010 Canadian Archery Championships

Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia is pleased to host the 2010 Canadian Archery Championships. We welcome all athletes to our province in the spirit of competition and fellowship. We hope that you enjoy your stay and experience our east-coast hospitality.

Nova Scotia sticks well out into the gulf stream of the eastern seaboard. The salt winds have seeped into our hearts and souls for over 400 hundred years. Its sandy beaches and rocky shores give our province the nick-name "Canada?s Ocean playground".

This is the home of Canada?s first permanent habitation and the port of entry for many new immigrants. Many stories start and end here and our culture is as diverse as our landscape. We are pleased to welcome Canadian archers back to our province.

Halifax

A naval port since 1749, Halifax was the England?s answer to France?s fortress Louisburg. Boasting the second largest natural harbour in the world, it has a rich ship building heritage. From destroyers to oil-rigs, if it floats, we build it. Allied navies convoyed here before crossing the Atlantic in both world wars, though the city?s defenses have never fired a shot in anger.

In 1917 a good portion of the original city was lost in the largest man-made explosion before Hiroshima. Since then we?ve been having a blast on a regular basis. Renowned as a party destination, our downtown has clubs and restaurants too numerous to mention. An eclectic mix of Celtic pubs and dance bars, downtown is a great place to bend your elbow when you?ve finished bending your bow.
